Spring into Cleaning and Soul-Sorting

The MomCo Staff

Spring is almost here! You know what that means—it’s time for the much-anticipated (or dreaded, depending on how you look at it!) season of spring cleaning. But who says it needs to be all about dusting shelves and scrubbing floors? Let’s shake things up this year! We’re going beyond the domestic realm – we’re diving deep into the heart of our relationships and rhythms too.

Rolling Up Those Sleeves: Including the Kiddos

Getting the little ones involved might seem tiring at the outset. Who are we kidding – it’s akin to asking a gaggle of geese to line up neatly. But it’s a fantastic way to spend quality time together, teach them important life skills, and bonus – get the chores done. Make the tidying session a fun-filled family fiesta. Set upbeat music in the background and turn chore time into a dance party. Make it a game to see who can sort the laundry the fastest, maybe even incentivize them with a treat. Before you know it, the “cleaning brigade” will be begging you for their next mission.

Remember, momma, household tasks aren’t a one-mom-show. It’s okay to ask for help – even if your helpers are under four foot tall and have a curious proclivity for inserting Legos in unexpected places.

Spring Cleaning Your Relationships

While you’re reassessing your living space, let’s not forget about your heart space. Life can get messy, and that’s okay. Sometimes, you might realize you’re holding onto relationships and habits that don’t serve your joy or growth.

The revolving carousel of playdates, PTA meetings, and social commitments can leave you drained and wondering when you last had a moment to sip your coffee hot, right? Maybe it’s time to evaluate if all those “yeses” are leaving room for the most important yes – you.

Creating Rhythms for Refreshing Realignment

In the bustling routine of changing diapers, chauffeuring to soccer practice, and quelling tiny tantrums, it’s easy to overlook our personal rhythms. And no, we’re not talking about your irresistible mom-dance moves.

Take this spring-cleaning season as an opportunity to reassess what’s working and what isn’t in your daily routine. Maybe your mornings are too rushed and it’s time to wake up a bit earlier. Maybe you miss reading and it’s time to schedule in a quiet hour with a book. Heck, maybe it’s time to implement a daily mom’s quiet time (the holy grail, right?). Don’t be afraid to experiment and change things up. After all, routine should serve you, not the other way around!

Remember, those dishes can wait, but your well-being should never take a back seat.

In the bustle of motherhood, it’s okay to embrace chaos and equally important to find order.

So, ladies, grab your mop in one hand and a sense of humor in the other. It’s time to bring on the spring cleaning, both at home and in your heart. To borrow from Marie Kondo – only keep what sparks joy, whether that’s a tidy kitchen, a lighter social calendar, or a rhythm that aligns with your harmony.
